Homeopathic Solutions for Hay Fever: Natural Relief for Allergic Rhinitis Symptoms
ALLERGIC RHINITIS (HAY FEVER)
Allergic rhinitis is a condition where you experience repeated nasal congestion, watery nasal discharge, itching or irritation in the nose, sometimes burning in the nose and eyes, and frequent sneezing fits. It can happen when the weather changes and may be seasonal or last all year (perennial).
Things like dust, plant pollens, smoke, smells from deodorants or perfumes, insects, molds, and pet dander can cause hay fever symptoms.
CAUSE OF DISEASE:
When someone with allergic rhinitis breathes in pollens, dust, smoke, and other allergens, it causes an immediate allergic reaction that releases histamine in the nasal lining.
Seasonal allergens include pollens from plants, grasses, flowers, and weeds. The most common seasonal allergic rhinitis is due to grass pollen, which peaks in May, June, and July.
Year-round (perennial) allergic rhinitis happens when you breathe in house dust, mold spores, pet dander, smells from perfumes, cold air, or during dry weather.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:
In seasonal allergies, symptoms include:
- Sudden sneezing attacks
- Heavy watery nasal discharge
- Nasal blockage or difficulty breathing through the nose
- Sometimes severe asthma attacks
- Itching in the nose, throat, and eyes
- Feeling uncomfortable, tired, weak, with body pain
- Mucus dripping down the back of the throat
- Cough
These symptoms usually last for a few hours and may include burning, irritation, watery eyes, and red eyes.
In year-round (perennial) allergies, the symptoms are similar but less severe.
PREVENTION:
People sensitive to dust should:
- Remove dust from their bedroom
- Keep windows open
- Replace old pillows
- Wear a face mask
- Apply desi cow ghee in the nose before sleeping
- Avoid pollens and other allergens for better results
